This is a pivotal leadership role within our organisation, responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in line with Ofsted, ESFA, and Awarding Organisation standards. With two direct reports, this role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Location
This is a remote role, however regular on-site attendance at all training centres will be expected therefore we welcome applications from candidates who live within commutable distance to Warrington, Walsall, Watford or Dagenham. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays should be expected in this role. All travel expenses are reimbursed.
As the Head of Quality you will:
- Lead the organisation’s internal quality assurance function across apprenticeships, regulated qualifications, and staff CPD.
- Oversee inspections and audits, including Ofsted and Awarding Organisations.
- Maintain quality accreditations such as Matrix and direct claims status.
- Manage quality policies, SAR/QIP, standardisation, and internal sampling.
- Monitor teaching and learning through observations and evaluation.
- Collaborate with the Director of People to manage CPD for all staff, from onboarding to annual refresher programmes.
Essential experience:
- Significant experience in a senior quality role within apprenticeships or FE (essential)
- Qualifications in teaching, assessment, and IQA (essential)
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework and awarding body compliance (essential)
- Experience acting as Ofsted nominee or deputy (desirable)
- Strong analytical, reporting, and leadership skills
- A collaborative mindset and learner-centred approach
